Deepak Gidwani, P.E., S.E., Principal of DG Structural Engineering LLC (DGSE), has been a Structural Engineer for over 30 years. Deepak has Master's degree in Structural Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin (1983). He is a licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in Illinois; Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kansas, Wisconsin, Maryland and Georgia; and holds a credential record with NCEES to facilitate licensure in other states. Deepak started his career working for leading Structural Engineering firms in New Delhi, India. He established and operated a Structural Engineering design firm STADEA Structural Consultants in New Delhi, providing services mainly to architectural firms (1987-1995). Prominent projects included the Assam Valley Boarding School complex, the 10-story Ganapati Plaza Office and Retail building in Jaipur, and a 32-story office building in Bangkok, Thailand. Deepak worked as a Technical Manager for a prominent Australian firm in Singapore (1995-1999). His major projects in Singapore included a billion-dollar Wafer Fab plant, an award winning French International School complex, and an Aquaculture farm on a remote island. Since the late 90's he has been based in the Chicago area, first working for leading Structural firms in Chicago and its suburbs, and then setting up and operating DGSE (since 2010). While with Chicago firms he worked on projects at the two major Chicago airports, a University building in the North suburbs, and numerous industrial, retail, residential and educational building projects in the area. Some of his major projects since establishing DGSE include a large warehouse in Perryville, MD; an industrial addition project in South Holland, IL; a senior living facility in Huntley, IL; a temple building in Glenview, IL; a climbing wall facility in Chicago, IL; a golf club building at Glenwood, IL; and a sports dome in Rosemont, IL. Deepak has also worked extensively on condition evaluation, investigative/forensic, repair and rehabilitation, as well as bridge and transportation projects.
